If we limit programming to the things that happen inside the computers, to the ones and zeros, we are teaching the wrong things, I think. Instead of abstracting programming languages to be kids-sliced or teaching people only the tools, we should be teaching them more about programming culture. And by doing that, I mean we should make programming culture a foundational experience of your childhood. Because that's what childhood is about — showing kids that the world is magical and full of possibilities and in essense, that's what software is about.
